Update

Thanks so much for all of your positive thoughts, prayers, phone calls and emails. They have meant so much to me and Peter. William continues to get better and better. He has been off of any supplementary oxygen since 1 a.m. today and is able to process the air he is breathing on his own, which means that his heart and lungs have begun to function as they should. The doctor said yesterday that "he is coming out of the woods", the sweetest words a mom and dad could hear at this point.

Sofie got to see Will through the window of the NICU last night. Kids have to be at least 3 to visit so she hasn't been able to see her baby brother yet and she is really excited to meet him. She saw him at quite a distance and he was under an oxygen hood at that point, a contraption that looks a lot like a plastic cake holder that goes over the baby's head and pumps different levels of oxygen into the air the baby is breathing. Sofie looked at Peter and said, "baby brother's in a tent."

We will continue to post updates as we get them and will hopefully have some pictures soon.
