Sofie Bingham Einhorn was born on August 22nd, 2006 at 11:19 Hawaiian Pacific Time at the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. She was born at the same place as her "Papa" (Amy's dad) and her great grandma Lydia Young.

Sofie weighed 7lbs, 6.5oz and was 20 3/4 inches long.

Yes, we know that we look tired! Amy started feeling contractions at around 1:15 AM and we (mostly she) worked through all that at home until around 7:15 AM when Amy urgently decided that she wanted to go to the hospital. Luckily that is literally a one minute drive from our house so we arrived and in we went and boy when we walked out the door again our life was forever changed (a good thing in our book).

Amy was a trooper! I knew she was tough but I had no idea how tough. Amy went through the entire labor process sans pain medication and when it came time to push she really showed her muster! After only 18 minutes of pushing out popped this little wrinkled Winston Churchill looking thing. My first words to Amy were: "I think she has my Grandpa Herbert's nose!" :) Too which she responded: "No she doesn't!"

We finally got to our room and received a number of guests. First to arrive were Amy's parents: Ronnie "Tutu" and Dave "Papa" Young.



And Sofie even got to talk to her "Farmor" Kirsten on Peter's cell phone:



And daddy sang to Sofie all of her favorite songs.



And mommy looked at her and she looked right back...



Soon thereafter we were sent out into the world to fend for ourselves. We make a great team the three of us! Look Sofie, we're home.
