Sofie went to her first poetry reading on Monday night! Ted Kooser, a US poet laureate, has been in Hawaii this week doing readings and teaching classes. Mommy was thrilled that he did a reading at the University of Hawaii on Monday. Daddy and Sofie stood in the back while he read. Daddy said that Sofie perked up when Kooser started to read his poems. She listened intently to a couple of them and then dropped off to sleep in her baby bjorn. Here are mommy and Sofie getting ready to go to the reading.

Having fun!

We are all so thrilled about the results of last night's US elections! What a great outcome. I'll leave the political commentary to daddy on his blog site, but will say here that we are so relieved that the country sent the current administration such a resounding message! Sofie and mommy as CNN announced that the Democrats would take the House!
